가톨릭의 사회적 역할과 공중관계(PR) 커뮤니케이션 전략을 연구하고 있다. 가톨릭대학교에서 신학 학사 및 석사, 서강대학교 신문방송학과에서 디지털미디어 콘텐츠 전공으로 석사 및 박사 학위를 받았다. 한국사회 안에서 가톨릭은 '인권과 언론'이라는 공동의제로 사회와 소통했듯이, 앞으로는 '생명의 존엄성'이라는 가톨릭의 핵심 가치를 통해 사회적 이슈에 대한 대안을 제시하고자 한다. 특히 자살, 우울증, 중독, 마음챙김, 저출산, 외상후 스트레스장애 등 현대 사회의 핵심 의제들을 VRT(Virtual Reality Therapy)와 뉴미디어 기술을 활용한 해결방안을 연구하고 있다. 개인주의적 고립과 정신건강 문제에 직면한 현대인들을 돕기 위해 AI, VR/AR 등 첨단 기술과 가톨릭의 인문학적/영성적 가치를 결합한 디지털 솔루션을 개발하고자 한다.

The research examines the Catholic Church’s social role and public relations(PR) communication strategies. The researcher earned a BA and MA in Theology from the Catholic University of Korea and an MA and PhD in Digital Media Content from the Department of Journalism and Mass Communication at Sogang University. Building on the Church’s historical engagement with Korean society through the shared agenda of “human rights and the press,” this work seeks to advance concrete responses to contemporary social issues by foregrounding the Catholic core value of the “dignity of life.” It focuses on suicide, depression, addiction, mindfulness, low fertility, and post-traumatic stress disorder, developing solution frameworks that leverage Virtual Reality Therapy (VRT) and new media technologies. To support individuals facing individualistic isolation and mental-health challenges, the research aims to design digital solutions that integrate advanced technologies—including AI and VR/AR—with Catholic humanistic and spiritual values.

가족심리전공으로 특별히 중독임상경력이 20년 이상이며, 중독자 및 가족 대상 치료, 상담, 교육을 진행했으며, 중독자 및 가족을 위한 도서, 치료프로그램 개발 및 효과성 연구를 주로 함. 
중독상담센터와 연구소 운영진이며, 서울시TBS교통방송국 자문위원, 식약처 마약재활팀의 자문교수로 활동중임.
중독자 및 가족 진로상담 및 교육을 전담으로 하고 있음.

저는 가톨릭대학교 사회복지학과 조교수로 재직 중입니다. 제 연구 관심 분야는 사회적 고립, 중독, 삶의 질, 정신 건강, 노인을 위한 의료 서비스 제공에 중점을 두고 있습니다.

Sunghwan Cho is an assistant professor in the Department of Social Work at the Catholic University of Korea. His academic and professional careers have consistently focused on the field of aging and older adults. His research interests focus on social isolation, quality of life, mental health, and the delivery of healthcare services for older adults.

구약 성경의 역사서에 대해 본문 비평과 원문 분석 중심의 연구를 하고 있다. 2014년 1월 로마 성서대학에서 "L'aspetto fedele di Davide in 2Sam 16,5,13"라는 논문으로 성서학 석사(S.S.L)를 취득하였으며, 2023년 8월 "사울과 사울 가족의 죽음을 통해 본 다윗 왕위의 정당성 연구: 1사무 31장과 2사무 1장, 4장의 본문 분석을 중심으로"라는 논문으로 박사 학위(Th.D)를 받았다. 가톨릭대학교 성신교정 신학과에서 "구약성경 입문"과 "구약성서와 역사"를 강의하고 있다. 복음적 가치에 뿌리를 둔 교육적 도움을 주기 위해 겸임으로써 학부대학에서도 교양 과목 강의를 하고 있다. 2024년 1학기, '삶의 고통과 그 의미에 대하여'라는 교양 중핵 과목을 개설하였다. 

가톨릭 교회의 사제로서 가톨릭대학교의 시대적 역할을 고민하며, 복음의 정신을 교육 현장에서 현실화하기 위해 노력하고 있다. 

My research focuses on the historical books of the Old Testament, with particular emphasis on textual criticism and literary analysis. I received a Licentiate in Biblical Studies (S.S.L.) from the Pontificium Institutum Biblicum in January 2014, with a thesis entitled “L’aspetto fedele di Davide in 2Sam 16,5–13.” In 2023, I earned a Doctorate in Theology (Th.D.) from the Catholic University of Korea, with a dissertation titled “A Study of the Legitimacy of David’s Throne through the Narrative about the Death of Saul and Saul’s Family: Focusing on the Analysis of 1 Samuel 31; 2 Samuel 1; and 2 Samuel 4.”

I currently teach “Introduction to the Old Testament” and “The Old Testament and the History of Israel” in the Department of Theology at the Catholic University of Korea (Songsin Campus). In the first semester of 2024, I am also offering a cultural course titled “On Suffering and the Meaning of Life.”(Songsim Campus)

As a priest of the Catholic Church, I reflect deeply on the contemporary mission of Catholic universities and strive to embody and promote the spirit of the Gospel within the field of education.
